Abstracted an 11 point high-level strategic vision for studio operations
To propose and help provide guidance on studio scope and direction for day one
Peloton
New York, NY
Peloton Interactive aimed to build a worldwide State-of-the-Art live streaming fitness studio in the heart of NYC’s Hudson Yard in under 12-months. The challenge, however, was in determining what should be in-scope when it is Construction Complete while adhering to a cutoff timeline for budgetary proposal in under 8 weeks.
My contributions
- Key stakeholder interviews
- Requirements/user story gathering
- Vendor vetting
- Gap analysis
- High-level strategic abstraction & proposal
- RACI matrix
How I helped
Prior to kicking off any project management effort, high-level studio scope definition, strategic direction, and acceptance across the impacted stakeholders and teams were requested in order to fulfill the mandate of inter-departmental budgetary proposals.
With limited resources and a tight timeline, I proposed a tactical action plan to start by understanding existing operational pain points and the context around those issues.
Through exhaustive stakeholder interviews, I gathered specific feedback and drafted user stories/requirements based off gap analysis.
These translated into Business Asks and were abstracted up to an 11-point prioritized studio strategic vision proposed to the Executive Committee for discussion amongst key decision makers to guide scope direction and negotiate trade-offs.
At the same time, due to the significant and ever-changing cross-functional teams involved, I created a high-level swim lane of key milestones as well as a RACI matrix.
Outcome
- Created an 11-point strategic studio vision for Executive Leadership discussions
- Identified and surfaced key product ownership gaps
- Developed a high-level project timeline for studio launch
